Unanimous development resolution for the Bentzin Solar Park on Teufelsstein

A significant step was taken today for our project in Bentzin am Teufelsstein: With a unanimous vote of 7:0, the municipality has passed the development resolution for our planned solar park.

Large-scale and High-capacity Project: A solar park with an installable capacity of 64 MWp is being developed on an area of 55 hectares.

Sustainable Agriculture through Innovative Energy Supply: The soil condition in Bentzin, characterized by dry farmland, has previously required the pumping up of water – a measure that led to high electricity costs. With the new solar park, an environmentally friendly solution is being implemented, whereby the necessary energy for the water pumps will be provided by green electricity in the future. This means not only more sustainable agriculture but also a significant reduction in electricity costs.

Direct Financial Benefits for the Community: Thanks to the current legal situation, which allows direct participation of municipalities in the revenues from solar power plants, Bentzin can expect over 130,000 EUR annually from this project.

Additional Infrastructure and Double Contribution to the Energy Transition: A battery park is to be constructed at the planned grid injection point, about 12 km away. This will balance the volatile electricity production, relieve the load on the electricity grids, and thus double the contribution to the energy transition.
