The Kränzlin Battery Park marks a milestone for the energy transition in Brandenburg.

With an output of 60 MW and a capacity of 240 MWh, one of the largest battery storage facilities in Germany – and the largest in the E.DIS grid area – is being built here. It relieves the grid, makes efficient use of surplus wind and solar power, and strengthens regional supply security. Grid bottlenecks are thus set to become a locational advantage – for industry, municipalities, households, and the energy transition as a whole.

Sustainable value creation for the region

The battery park strengthens the regional energy supply, lowers grid costs through fewer curtailments, and increases the location’s attractiveness for industry, municipalities, and households.

Less redispatch, lower costs
The Kränzlin Battery Park reduces the curtailment of renewable energies, relieves the grid, and thereby reduces costs for electricity consumers. Thanks to its high grid compatibility, it supports grid stability in critical situations and actively contributes to a secure energy supply.

Klimaschutz vor Ort
Durch die Nutzung von überschüssigem Wind- und Solarstrom vermeiden wir jedes Jahr große Mengen CO₂ – das entspricht dem Jahresverbrauch von rund 30.000 Haushalten.

Financial benefits for the municipality

Business tax and voluntary participation models with the municipality ensure value creation remains local – and open up opportunities for new businesses and growing industrial estates.

Future-proof technology
With 60 MW output, 240 MWh capacity, and reaction times in the millisecond range, the storage system ensures supply security and grid stability.

News & Updates

03.09.2025 – Building permit granted

re.venture GmbH has received the official building permit for the Kränzlin Battery Park – including two dedicated substations. Covering an area of around 1.5 hectares, one of the largest battery storage facilities in Germany is being built here. This clears the way for a key project in Brandenburg’s energy transition.

Questions and Answers

Sie fragen sich sicher, was es für Sie bedeutet, dass in Ihrer Gemeinde ein Batteriepark entsteht ?
Here you will find answers to the most important questions:

In Kränzlin (Municipality of Märkisch Linden), Ostprignitz-Ruppin district, in close proximity to the wind farm. On an area of around 1.5 hectares, one of the largest battery storage facilities in Germany is being constructed.

Currently, there is no legal framework for municipal participation under the EEG for battery storage, as there is for solar and wind farms. Nevertheless, we take responsibility: following our principle “Creating and sharing more value,” we aim to voluntarily involve the municipality and let the region share in the project’s success.

Yes. Surplus wind and solar power from the region is stored and fed back into the grid when needed – so it remains usable locally and strengthens regional supply security.

The facility mainly consists of two substations and battery containers, similar to those known from freight transport. To better integrate it into the landscape, the site will be enclosed with a dense hedge, largely screening the view of the technology.

The Kränzlin site is located at a heavily loaded grid node with large amounts of wind and solar power in the area. This is precisely where the storage facility can provide the greatest grid relief – and at the same time it is located far from residential housing.

re.venture GmbH, based in Berlin – a company specializing in sustainable energy projects and storage solutions.

Following the granted building permit, preparatory work is now underway: e.dis is constructing a grid connection point to ensure the optimal integration of the storage facility. In parallel, we are planning the construction of two dedicated substations for direct connection to the 110 kV level. In addition, we are working together with the municipality on a voluntary participation model. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026, with commissioning planned for 2027.

Taking part instead of just watching!

The battery park not only strengthens the energy supply but also the region.
